CMWU Carries Out an Urgent Intervention in Al-Qarara to Mitigate Rainfall Risks and Protect Displacement Camps

Published on
CMWU, in cooperation with Al-Qarara Municipality and with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), carried out an urgent field intervention in Al-Qarara town as part of its efforts to prepare for the rainy season and reduce the risks of rainwater accumulation and flooding in displacement camps.

The works included the delivery of four truckloads of coarse sand, the construction of earth embankments, and road leveling along Hanin Street and in Al-Sahel Camp. These measures aim to provide direct protection to Al-Amal, Bila Wada'a, and Al-Sahel displacement camps.

The preventive measures targeted five displacement camps, benefiting approximately 4,500 displaced people, helping mitigate rainfall risks and provide a safer environment for displaced families during the winter season.
